"Miyako Odori" is a kind of Japanese traditional dances which drawn up a plan for an entertainment in an exposition in Kyoto, 1872(Meiji 5). It is based on Kabuki, Genji Monogatari (the tales of Genji) or this year's Eto (Chinese astrology), and performed every 1st -30th April since then. Geiko and Maiko in Gion-Machi dance all together and they are absolutely gorgeous. Now it is one of the spring features in Kyoto.

April's seasonal confection of Kyoto has a strawberry taste. They are made of Nerikiri of Tukuneimo (white bean cake of Chinese yam) mixed with freeze-drying strawberries. White sweetened bean paste with strawberries and raspberries is in it and dried strawberry is put on the top. We used plenty of berries to make it special to this season.

We serve a cup of green matcha tea (or choice of coffee) and our wagashi based on our textile design.
