The underground show windows are inspired by the shape of traditional folding screens, creating a space where the displayed items are beautifully showcased. The design features Gion Festival floats making their way through SOU・SOU’s iconic textile patterns. Please enjoy this special space where SOU・SOU’s textiles and the spirit of the Gion Festival come together.
SOU・SOU representative Takeshi Wakabayashi and Mr. Tani from Daimaru Kyoto introduced this project together.
Designs such as “Smile” and “Gold Damask” are printed on gold paper and applied as a wrap on the glass surfaces. The space was designed to make the displayed products feel as if they are surrounded by the world of SOU・SOU textiles.
Inside the building, SOU・SOU’s textile designs are also used on the pillars around the escalators from the 3rd to 5th floors, as well as on promotional materials in the restaurant floor.
