What is “BORO”?
The story dates back more than 100 years to the Meiji era, when fabric was a valuable commodity.
Kimonos, workwear, underwear, and even bedding used by common people were worn until they were completely tattered, then carefully patched and reused again and again...
Clothing created through this repeated process over decades — or even centuries — is called “BORO.”
Today, BORO is recognized worldwide as an art form for its value and unique appeal.
・This fabric is a dyed reproduction of BORO (patched textiles). (It is not made from actual vintage fabric.)
・Made using Chizimi Cotton 20/20 Circulor washing-processed fabric by Sakao Orimono, founded in 1950.
・SOU・SOU's original textile.
・The thin and cool texture gives a moderately sharp feel, it is the best suited to the hot and humid summer in Japan.
・It feels crisp and not sticky on the skin.
・Sold in 50 cm per unit.
