What is "Hanatsutsumi"?Originating from the Edo period flower traditions "Kadensho", hanatsutsumi were used for gifts and ceremonies. It has been revived as a floral decoration for modern living spaces, either as hanging or placed flowers in a graceful manner. About "Kyoto Hanatsutsumi Society"...Established in November 2014 by a group of young head of flower arrangers from different KADO style in Kyoto. It revives and proposes the modern-day revival of 'hanatsutsumi', which remains in the Edo period's floral traditions. The four members are Ashida Kazuharu (successor of family Enshu), Otsu Tomonaga (vice-head of Miyako Kado style ), Sasaoka Ryuho (Iemoto of Mishoryu Sasaoka) and Sugisaki Suizan (Iemoto of Kidou Mishoryu). ・Changing the water daily prolongs the life of the flowers. How to use 1. Fill the bag provided with appropriate amount of water. 2. Insert flowers in the attached bag. Take care not to overflow the water. 3. Gently insert it through the innermost inlet of the Hanatsutsumi. 4.
