What is "Kyoto Ainasen"?
Japanese has been familiar with wearing indigo since the Edo period. In the early Meiji era, it was also called Japan Blue, and the indigo color became a representative color of Japan. Contrary to soak dye which is regarded as the mainstream, "Ainasen", which uses natural indigo as a raw material and is printed by hand, is the world's first dyeing technique developed by Fujitasenen. Please enjoy the taste of indigo and the natural discoloration.

“20/20” refers to a fabric woven using 20-count yarn for both the warp and weft.
About the fabric feel: it is as substantial as a shirt fabric that can be worn year-round.
(The higher the count number, the finer the yarn and the thinner the woven fabric is.)
・It is dyed with Kyoto Stencil Yuzen Dyeing.
・It is Kyoto Stencil Yuzen Dyeing dyed using the dyeing industry’s first Ainasen technique.
・Natural indigo is used.
・Equipped with waistband and drawstring (with replacement hole)

【Natural Indigo Characteristics and Care Instructions】
Natural indigo dyeing fixes color through repeated oxidation and alkalization processes; however, slight amounts of incompletely oxidized components may remain.
These components create the unique depth and soft tones of natural indigo; however, when worn in hot and humid conditions, color transfer or brown/yellow stains may occur.

[About Chizimi Cotton]
・This textured cotton, produced in Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture since around the Tenmei era of Edo Era, is made from yarn that has been strongly twisted (Tightly Twisted yarn) to give the fabric a wrinkled, crisp feel.
・Because it has wrinkles, the surface area that touches the skin is small; sweat spreads out across the surface by capillary action, and it is said to make the body feel 2 degrees cooler.
・It excels in sweat absorbency, quick-drying performance, breathability, moisture absorption, and moisture release.
・Chizimi Cotton, nurtured by the blessings of Lake Biwa, boasts the highest production volume in Japan.

[About dyeing Chizimi Cotton]
When dyeing Chizimi Cotton, the dye may not penetrate all the way to the back side of the shiwa.
The Circulor washing material used in this product has stretchability (stretch rate: approx. 120%), so you can wear it comfortably and with ease.
