What is "Rectangular Sleeve Coat"…
This haori features gathered ciffs, a design element once used in the formal attire of court nobles. The gathered sleeves allow for easier movement.
What is "Ken"?
It means the "in-between" length of coats or jackets.
The length between short length and long length = length that hides your knees.
・The outer fabric is a wide-wale corduroy dyed with Kyoto Stencil Yuzen Dyeing.
・The lining uses Toray’s functional “SAP®” fabric, which offers excellent moisture absorption, quick-drying, and anti-static properties.
・2 side pockets
・Can also be worn on top of a kimono.
・The sleeves can be adjusted by tightening the decorative strings.
・Decorative cuff braids and haori strings are made originally by Showen Kumihimo.
