A cardigan inspired by the ethnic costume of the Ainu, characterized by a triangular sleeve which is folded and sewn from one single piece of fabric.
What is “Tan-i”?
It means short length in Japanese.
What is “BORO”?
The story dates back to more than 100 years ago, when fabric was a valuable commodity in the Meiji Era.
The kimonos, work kimono, underwear, and even bedding used by common people were used until they are worn out and then patched up again for reuse...
Clothes that have been made through this process over and over for decades, or even hundreds of years, are called BORO.
Today, the value and appeal of BORO as art are recognized around the world.

・This fabric is a reproduction of rags (BORO) through dyeing. (It is not patched)
・Linen is said to be the "coolest fiber" among natural fibers. It is a material best suited for hot and humid seasons.
・It is an outer without lining.
・Uses haori cords made originally by Showen Kumihimo.

【About Inkjet Dyeing】
The characteristic of inkjet dyeing is that it expands the scope of design expression, as there are virtually no restrictions on the colours that can be reproduced.
The dyeing machinery is manufactured domestically by Konica Minolta, Inc. The pre-treatment process utilises materials uniquely formulated by the Kyoto-style Yuzen dyeing factory.
The expertise in Kyoto-style Yuzen dyeing techniques, cultivated over many years, enables inkjet printing with higher colour fastness and greater reproducibility.
