What is "Monpe Workers Pants" ...The hem of monpe pants is tucked and become narrower as a design.
・Made of Kurume Kasuri fabric made by Nomura Orimono Co. Ltd.・Equipped with elastic waistband and drawstring.・3 pockets (left and right sides and right front body)
Fully utilizes the fabric which has a narrow width, with the edge being kept as a part of the design. ※Pattern placement of this textile design product differs from one another due to the manufacturing process. Customers cannot specify the print.
This textile is originated in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, in the late Edo period. It is designated as an important intangible cultural asset and a traditional craft. It takes about two months to produce a piece of cloth, as there are 30 processes from pattern making to warping, and each process requires experience and skill.The simple beauty of Kurume Kasuri, as a result of a great deal of labour and perseverance, is widely loved and has become popular not only as kimono fabric but also in a variety of interior and accessory applications.
