What is "Kyoto Ainasen"?
Japanese has been familiar with wearing indigo since the Edo period. In the early Meiji era, it was also called Japan Blue, and the indigo color became a representative color of Japan. "Ainasen", which uses natural indigo as a raw material to print by hand-printing, is the world's first dyeing technique developed by Fujitasenen. Please enjoy the taste of indigo and the natural discoloration. What is "Naginata Rectangular Dress" ?It is a rectangular dress with a sleeve shaped like a Japanese sword. It has characteristic generous sleeves.
・Using Chizimi Cotton 20/20 Circulor washing processed fabric made by Sakao Orimono."20/20" means a fabric woven with 20 count threads for the warp and 20 count threads for the weft.About the texture: It is about the thickness of a shirt fabric that can be worn all year round.(The higher the count number, the finer the yarn and the thinner the woven fabric is.)
・The first Kyoto-style Yuzen that applies Ainasen technique in the dyeing industry.・Uses natural India indigo dye.・With side pockets.
※Pattern placement will vary from piece to piece due to the manufacturing process. Customers cannot specify the print. ※Due to the nature of hand-printing, slight screen displacement may occur but it is a feature of dyeing.※Due to the nature of dyeing process, uneven dyeing and color fading may occur.※At first, there may be a unique smell of dye, but it does not affect the human body. The smell will disappear after a while.
※This product is made by reproducing "Yuzen-nagashi" (traditional washing method in a river), which is to wash off excess components after indigo printing, in an artificial river. During dehydration, there is a stain-like transfer of dye due to frictional pressure, but this is not a defect.
【About Chizimi Cotton】・It has a long production history since the Edo period in Takashima City, Shiga-Prefecture, and is made from strongly twisted yarn which provides a sharp and creped touch.・As the crepe texture minimizes the touching surfuce and lets sweats vaporize easily, sensible temperature is said to be minus 2 degrees.・Excellent performances in Sweat absorbing · Quick drying · Air permeability · Hygroscopicity · Moisture release.・Takashima chizimi cotton, which has benefited from the natural resources of Lake Biwa, boasts the highest production in Japan.
※Chizimi Cotton 20/20 Circulor washing fabric may have a slightly different shrinkage ratio depending on the color/pattern due to the dyeing process.
【About Dyeing of Chizimi Cotton】
When dyeing Chizimi Cotton, color may not be able to penetrate deeply into the creped part of fabric.
The Circulor washing processed fabric used in this product has elasticity (Elongation Rate: about 120%), making it easy to move in and comfortable to wear.
※Care Instructions
【How to wash Kyoto-style Yuzen (hand-printed) products】・Please wash separately at the beginning.・Please put in the laundry net and wash by machine.
・Please avoid hand washing since it has a weak draining power, the dye may dissolve in water and cause transfer or bleeding. ・Do not soak.・Since there is a risk of dye migration, please use a neutral detergent and dry in the shade immediately after washing.
・As there may be color transfer, please wash it separately from white or light-colored items.・Please refrain from using an iron to make the best use of the crepe material.・Color transfer may occur due to friction or during wearing.・Due to the nature of the fabric, it has a certain degree of stretchability. Please adjust the garment to its original shape immediately after washing without pulling on the stitches excessively.・Do not tumble dry.
