SOU・SOU × Fujitasenen Ainasen Scarf / Chrysanthemum 2

・This is a handkerchief dyed with Ainasen technique, a first in the dyeing industry. ・A cotton scarf made of Isemomen cotton Handkerchief fabric which is light in weight and soft-touching. It can be used not only in winter but also in summer for sunscreen and air-conditioned room. ・Natural Indian indigo is used. ※This item uses Isemomen Cotton. The fluffs on the surface may look obvious depending on the dye color. It is a characteristic of Isemomen Cotton. ※Pattern placement of this textile design product differs from one another due to the manufacturing process. Customers cannot specify the print. ※Since we are using raw white Isemomen cotton without bleaching, the fabric is in its natural color. The black spots on the fabric surface are plant fragments that cannot be avoided during the production process. 【Characteristics and Care Instructions for Natural Indigo】 Natural indigo dyeing fixes the colour through repeated oxidation and alkalisation, but a small amount of incompletely oxidised material may remain. This component produces the deep, soft hues characteristic of indigo dye, but when worn in hot, humid conditions, it may cause colour bleeding or brown/yellow stains to appear. There may be some neps (knots in the fabric), as it is sewn by traditional sewing machine. Due to the nature of Kyoto Stencil Yuzen (hand-printed) , there are unevenness of dyeing on the edge of the fabric as shown in the photo. Occasionally, uneven dyeing may be observed at the fabric edges. This is known as “hanging marks”, characteristic of Ainasen dyeing, arising during the “box steaming” process where the fabric is suspended within a box for steaming.
