Arimatsu Narumi Tie-dye Handkerchief,made Marimomen
“Unprecedented Use of Color”
Created with the idea of being cute, joyful, and heart-lifting, these hand-dyed tenugui handkerchiefs are made by Marimomen. Using Arimatsu Narumi Tie-dye, a 400-year-old traditional craft, they blend time-honored techniques with fresh colors and free-spirited ideas. The vibrant, one-of-a-kind patterns are Marimomen’s unique charm.
Marimomen is a female tie-dye unit consisting of Nagoya University of Arts graduates Yu Ito and Minori Muraguchi. By combining traditional techniques with vibrant, modern colors, their work opens up NEW possibilities for the historic Arimatsu Narumi Shibori.
