Costume collaboration for the film “Takarajima”
SOU・SOU provided costume support for parts of the film “Hero's Island” released nationwide on Fri, Sep 19, 2025.
One night, a hero vanished. Set in postwar Okinawa under American occupation, this moving epic portrays the friendship and inner struggles of young men who ran in pursuit of freedom.
Based on the novel “Hero's Island” by Junjō Shindō, which depicts untold truths of postwar Okinawa, the work won three major literary awards — the 160th Naoki Prize, the 9th Yamada Futaro Award, and the 5th Okinawa Booksellers Award. The story has now been adapted into a live-action film, jointly distributed by Toei and Sony Pictures.
