As we enjoy the lingering warmth of summer, signs of autumn are gradually beginning to appear. We hope you are all doing well.

In May this year, we opened a small art museum, “WAKISAKA KATSUJI / SOU・SOU MUSEUM,” in Shimogamo, Kyoto. There are currently no plans to open it to the general public, but as a trial, we held a preview during Golden Week by lottery and received many warm comments from visitors.

This September, we will also hold museum tours during Silver Week. This time, reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for those who purchase a ticket with a special gift (※).

This museum houses works by Katsuji Wakisaka. It features works from various periods, spanning from 1968 to the present. His career as a textile designer began in his twenties, followed by his Marimekko period, Jack Larsen period, Wacoal period, and a brief period of working independently as an artist. In 2002, he met me and architect Hisanobu Tsujimura, leading to his current SOU・SOU period.
It would be interesting to experience the differences in designs created in different countries and for different companies during each period, as well as the changing sense of character and taste that emerged with age.
