It was a haori with gathered sleeves which was worn by the nobles in Japan.
Gathered sleeves design allows easy movement.
What is “Tan-i”?
It means short length in Japanese.
・Made from a cool, breezy 100% linen fabric with a sheer feel.
・Linen is said to be the "coolest fiber" among natural fibers. It is a material best suited for hot and humid seasons.
・With continuous use, it will become softer and gives a sheen unique to linen.
・It is an outer without lining.
・Can also be worn on top of a kimono.
・Uses original decorative braids that are manufactured by Showen Kumihimo on the sleeves and the front.
・You can narrow and gather the sleeves by tying the decorative strings.
・Pockets on two sides.
