This SOU・SOU textile design is inspired by Furuta Oribe, a disciple of Sen no Rikyu.
Since 2026, it has been officially adopted as the design of Oribe-dera Temple.
※This product is made of textiles with glitter / pigment.
・Katamikawari (Bi-color) means clothes with different patterns and colors on the right and left halves or parts. It is a design that has existed before Muromachi and was popular during the Momoyama period.
・Uses embossed processed Chizimi Cotton 20/10 made by Sakao Orimono.
[20/10 = fabric woven using 20 count warp and 10 count weft yarn]
(Compared to the Circulor washing processed fabric for summer, it is about 1.2 times thicker.)
(The higher the count number, the finer the yarn and the thinner the woven fabric is.)
・With elastic waistband and drawstring. (The rubber band is replaceable)
・Four pockets (1 on each side and 2 at the back )
※Pattern placement will vary from piece to piece due to the manufacturing process. Customers cannot specify the print.
※Because it is Hand-printed, slight variations in shape may occur, but this is a characteristic of the dyeing process.
※Due to the nature of dyeing, there may be dye unevenness or slight color fading.
※For dyeing reasons, there may be seam joins in the pattern, called "Katguchi". > About "Kataguchi"
【About Chizimi Cotton】
・Long production history since Edo-period in Shiga-Prefecture, using strongly twisted yarn which provide sharp and creped touch feel.
・As the crepe texture minimize the touching surfuce, and let sweat vaporize easily, sensible temperature is said to be minus 2 degrees.
・Excellent performances in Sweat absorbing · Quick drying · Air permeability · Hygroscopicity · Moisture release.
・Takashima chizimi cotton, which has benefited from the natural resources of Lake Biwa, boasts the highest production in Japan.
【About the dyeing of Chizimi Cotton】
When dyeing Chizimi Cotton, color may not be able to penetrate deeply into the creped part of fabric.
The embossed fabric used in this product has elasticity (rate: about 160%), making it easy to move in and comfortable to wear.

・Please wash separately as glitter and pigments may come off.
・Please use a washing machine and place the item in a laundry net.
・Do not hand-wash. As the dehydration is weak, and the dye may start to dissolve in the water causing migration or bleeding.
・The same applies to soak washing.
・There is a risk of color transfer, so after washing, use a neutral detergent and dry immediately in the shade.
・The color may fade, so wash separately from white or light-colored items.
・To make use of the crape texture, please avoid using an iron.
・Color may transfer during use or due to friction.
・Due to the nature of the fabric, it has a certain degree of stretchability. Please adjust the garment to its original shape immediately after washing without pulling on the stitches excessively.
・Please avoid using a tumble dryer.
