<What is Kurume Kasuri>
Originating in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture during the late Edo period, Kurume Kasuri is a traditional Japanese textile designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Asset. Each bolt is carefully crafted through more than 30 skilled processes and takes approximately two months to complete.
The simple beauty of Kurume Kasuri, as a result of a great deal of labour and perseverance, is widely loved and has become popular not only as kimono fabric but also in a variety of interior and accessory applications.
