The term is said to have originated from the fact that Empress Jito, the third-generation wife of Emperor Tenmu in the Meiji Era era, wore white pants under a hakama during the high-class entertainment dance “Stepping Dance.”This type of pants is also known as "steteco".
• It has a silhouette similar to tucked-in pants (pants with the hem section gathered with a drawstring).
• Made from a cotton fabric with Stretch properties.
