A two-part kimono in SOU・SOU style. As a modern everyday wear, it is named "Fubi" which contains the idea of "conquering the world in a lifetime".
What is “BORO”?
The story dates back more than 100 years to the Meiji era, when fabric was a valuable commodity.
Kimonos, workwear, underwear, and even bedding used by common people were worn until they were completely tattered, then carefully patched and reused again and again...
Clothing created through this repeated process over decades — or even centuries — is called “BORO.”
Today, BORO is recognized worldwide as an art form for its value and unique appeal.
・This fabric is a reproduction of rags (BORO) through dyeing. (It is not patched.) ・Using Chizimi Cotton 40/40 embossed fabric made by Sakao Orimono. "40/40" means a fabric woven with 40 count yarns in the warp and 40 count yarns in the weft.
About the texture of fabric: around the thickness of a light shirt.
(The higher the count number, the finer the yarn and the thinner the woven fabric is.)

・It is also recommended to wear matching Fubi Kimono Shirt and Pants as an alternative to yukata.
※Pattern placement of this textile design product differs from one another due to the manufacturing process. Customers cannot specify the print.
※Due to the nature of dyeing process, uneven dyeing and color fading may occur.※Products with the same color name may vary slightly in color due to different materials.
【About Chizimi Cotton】
・Produced in Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture, with a long history dating back to the Edo period. Strongly twisted weft yarn creates a distinctive crepe texture that feels cool and breathable.
・Because the textured surface reduces contact with the skin and allows moisture to evaporate easily, it is said to lower the perceived temperature by about 2°C.
・Excellent sweat absorption, quick-drying, breathability, moisture absorption, and moisture release properties.
・Takashima chizimi cotton, which has benefited from the natural resources of Lake Biwa, boasts the highest production in Japan. 【About Inkjet Dyeing】
A distinctive feature of inkjet dyeing is the nearly unlimited range of colors that can be reproduced, expanding the possibilities of design expression.
The dyeing machines are manufactured in Japan by Konica Minolta, Inc. The pre-treatment process uses specially formulated materials developed by a Kyoto Stencil Yuzen dyeing workshop.
Through years of cultivated expertise in Kyoto Stencil Yuzen dyeing techniques, high color vibrancy and detailed inkjet printing can be achieved.
