Newly Established Art Museum
Museum Tour Information Registration opens: Tuesday, September 1 at noon
As we enjoy the lingering warmth of summer, signs of autumn are gradually beginning to appear. We hope you are all doing well.
In May this year, we opened a small art museum, “WAKISAKA KATSUJI / SOU・SOU MUSEUM,” in Shimogamo, Kyoto. There are currently no plans to open it to the general public, but as a trial, we held a preview during Golden Week by lottery and received many warm comments from visitors.
This September, we will also hold museum tours during Silver Week. This time, reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for those who purchase a ticket with a special gift (※).
※Gift: A hanging ornament inspired by the museum gate
Although the viewing period is limited, we hope you will enjoy the diverse works of textile designer Katsuji Wakisaka at your leisure in this space produced by SOU・SOU. Please see below for details.

ここは脇阪克二氏の作品を所蔵した美術館です。 1968年〜現在まで、歴代のいろいろな作品が展示されています。20代から始まったテキスタイルデザイナーのキャリアの中で、マリメッコ期、ジャックラーセン期、ワコール期、そして少しのあいだ個人で活動をされていた作家期の後、2002年に僕や建築家の辻村久信氏と出逢って生まれた現在のSOU・SOU期。
それぞれの時期に、異なる国、会社で作られたデザインの違いや、歳を重ねるごとに変化していく「趣」などを感じていただけたら面白いと思います。
