June's painting“Water”

A wet June drizzle,
Raining for days and days.
Gloom shadowed our bodies and mind.
Unexpectedly, a sunny interval appeared.
Sunlight for the first time in a while,
Sparkle the water drops,
Illume the day.

“About June's seasonal wagashi from Kyoto”

We made two kinds of seasonal wagashi for June, sour apricot flavor and coconut flavor. They are inspired by the monthly painting that represents summery dots pattern.
The orange colored one is apricot flavor. We made the most use of apricots that are now in season. The apricot jelly wrapped by bean paste which mixed with apricot paste and dried apricot. The unique taste of it is refreshingly sweet and sour.
The other white one is coconut flavor. To make it white, we used butter beans to do the sweetened white bean paste. Mixing with large portion of coconut milk and adding in roughly grinded coconut, the texture and flavor is amplified.
